Campaigning

Trans and queer inclusive sport

Trans inclusive sport is globally under threat. We believe that all sports participants deserve to play sport as their affirmed gender provided it is safe for them to do so. This includes competing with and against members of your affirmed sex, using appropriate same sex changing facilities as your teammates, and not being excluded simply because you are trans or queer from the sports you love and enjoy. We believe that poltical ideology has no place in sport, and the rolling back of trans inclusive sport is a gateway to policing women’s bodies and denying rights based on prejudices.

We therefore campaign to role back trans exclusionary policies, including using legal proceedings which seek to force governing bodies to look at the actual science rather than relying on disproven political beliefs. As such, we are proud supporters of all trans and non-binary people pushing back against exclusionary sports policies.

Over turn the For Women Scotland ruling

In April 2025 the UK Surpreme Court pasted down a ruling which declared that trans people in the UK are not considered at law their affired sex, instead are to be treated as their sex described at birth. We believe this is both an error at law and a fundamental breach of the rights of all transgender, gender non-conforming, and intersex people in the UK. This broad reach of this ruling has a chilling effect on the lives of everyone impacted by it, and thus we are vigerously campaigning to get this ruling set aside either by a change in the law or via an appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.

This case has international significance due to the standing English Common Law has globally, and as such we believe that in fighting this we are fighting for the rights of all trans, queer, and gender non-conforming people globally. We stand with every person impacted by this ruling, and out campainging efforts are geared towards providing the bedrock upon which any appeal or change in the law can be done to positively benefit trans and queer people.

With this in mind, we will be producing blogs, policy documents, and research with the funding you provide, as well as enabling others to carry out their work to further this goal.

Trans and queer inclusive laws

Globally transgender and queer rights have been eroded at law through legislation, legal decisions, and executive actions. Our campaigns are focused on shaping policymaking at the highest levels, laying the theoretical and practical groundwork for legal claims, and educating lawmakers on the impact of trans and queer exclusionary laws.

For too long gender critical voices have gained and sustained political influence at the expense of trans people, queer folk, and our allies. In a pluralistic democratic society it is vital that trans people, queer folk, and our allies are free to live their lives as our affirmed selves without fear, opression, or persectution. Our campaigning seeks to build this inclusive world, bridging the political divide to advocate for all trans and queer voices. We believe that when one trans or queer person is left behind the entire community suffers for it, and thus all legal systems must be trans and queer inclusive.

Our focus is on the UK, with the majority of our focus supporting UK civil rights, though we hope to be able to provide support, advocacy, and policy briefs globally as capacity allows. We are aware of the nuances and texture of global anti-trans and anti-queer laws, and as such we do not wish to erase anyone’s voice through our work.
